Helmsmen History

THE   HELMSMEN   HISTORY

In 1969, God brought three college students together in Bourbonnais, Illinois to form the Helmsmen. In 1971 the group reorganized in Owego, New York where God blessed their ministry.  In 2007 the manager, Ken Eash and his family moved to Sturgis, Michigan where he again reorganized the group.  In 2018 Ken & Lorri moved to Mount Vernon, OH.  Ken reorganized the Helmsmen one more time. The Lord again put four talented men together to form the Helmsmen of Ohio.  The personnel have changed over the years, but the zest for ministry has continued. God has used The Helmsmen to minister to thousands of people, through hundreds of church services and concerts. Many people have been saved, and many more have been encouraged to continue in their Christian faith.

Over the years, The Helmsmen have recorded 18 albums. Their travels have taken them from New York to Pennsylvania, Ohio, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Indiana, Illinois and Michigan. They have ministered in many different denominations including, but not limited to, Baptist, Church of God, Christian and Missionary Alliance, Free Methodist, Independent, Lutheran, Missionary, Nazarene, United Methodist, Primitive Methodist, Reformed, Salvation Army, Southern Baptist, and Wesleyan,  They have sang in concerts with the Oaks Ridge Boys and the Kingdom Heirs.
